In 2013 we began creating a series of “print-on-demand” Short Walks in Auckland books to encourage residents and visitors alike to discover on foot the magnificence and uniqueness of Auckland, New Zealand.   1. One easy and scenic walk not mentioned here but one I do regularly with my dog is the walkway at St Mary’s Bay alongside the northern motorway. One starts at the car park at the end of St Mary’s road
    Turn left follow the concrete partway walk up to Pt Erin across
    Shelley beach road over bridge which takes you to west haven.
    Follow the path along west haven with views over the yachts and Harbour Bridge. This then takes you to the pedestrian bridge back onto the St Mary’s bay walkway to the car park.
